Shooting with the Nikon Zf made me realize something I didn’t expect. The image quality was beautiful — so good, in fact, that it reminded me of what I had been missing.
All images were shot straight out of camera — no edits.
The more I worked with the Zf, the more I found myself thinking about depth, tonality, and the feeling of medium format. Instead of pulling me in a new direction, it quietly led me back to an old one. That realization is ultimately why I decided to sell it.
One quick clarification: I didn’t go into detail about the Nikkor 40mm f/2 or the 26mm f/2.8 in this video because it was specifically the Nikon Zf paired with the 50mm f/1.8 S that led me back toward medium format. That combination is what made the difference for me creatively. That said, both the 40mm and 26mm lenses are excellent and I genuinely enjoyed shooting with them. Check
